　　熱烈慶祝青苗學校在2020 年袋鼠數(shù)學競賽 (Math Kangaroo)中斬獲多項大獎!此次中國賽區(qū)共有來自中國大陸30多個省份、230多個城市的近22000名學生參賽，青苗上東、順義、常營、昆明、成都五所校區(qū)強強聯(lián)手，青苗小將不畏強敵、初戰(zhàn)告捷!

　　袋鼠數(shù)學競賽

　　About Math Kangaroo

　　由澳大利亞數(shù)學家 Peter O’Halloran 于 1980 年發(fā)起，不同于傳統(tǒng)數(shù)學奧賽強調的高難度和挑戰(zhàn)性，袋鼠數(shù)學競賽宗旨是用有趣生動、接近生活的題目，激發(fā)孩子們數(shù)學學習興趣及自信，培養(yǎng)學生數(shù)學思維，訓練學生閱讀、理解、分析和解決問題能力。因此袋鼠數(shù)學競賽逐步風靡世界，成為全球極具影響力的青少年國際數(shù)學競賽，87 個國家和地區(qū)舉辦、每年超過 600 萬學生參加。

　　Founded in 1980 by renowned Australian mathematician Peter O’Halloran and unlike the focuses on difficulty and challenge of Olympic math, Math Kangaroo aims to inspire children’s interest and confidence in mathematics with fun facts real life issues, and to cultivate children’s mathematical thinking, reading, understanding, analyzing and problem-solving abilities. Math Kangaroo is one of the most popular math competitions around the world, with over 6 million participants from 87 countries every year.

　　The BIBS Math Class

　　“數(shù)學合作教學”正是青苗探索IB課程與中國國家課程有機結合的成功嘗試。“授人以魚，不如授人以漁”，獲取知識，不是單方面的傾囊相授，而是在廣闊未知的空間中共同躬身探索。在青苗，一間教室里，兩個老師，兩種語言，四、五種不同的游戲，我們把原本枯燥的數(shù)學知識變成了有魔力的闖關挑戰(zhàn)。孩子們沉浸在中、英兩種不同的語言維度里，以“飛行棋”、“猴子撈月”、“大家一起來找茬”等游戲為媒介，一關又一關地輪換與挑戰(zhàn)，逐漸發(fā)現(xiàn)學習的奧秘，把課本中的知識融會貫通為自己的儲備。我們的數(shù)學，學要學得扎實，“玩”也要“玩”得精彩。

　　“紙上得來終覺淺，絕知此事要躬行”，學習的本質，在于運用。在青苗的數(shù)學課程上，我們致力于將課本上扁平的知識構建得生動立體。學習完“人民幣”的知識，孩子們創(chuàng)辦了自己的“超市”，舉辦了一場有意思的“購物節(jié)”;認識了長度單位后，孩子們在比賽扔紙飛機的同時，用尺子測量了紙飛機的飛行距離，找到了班級中的“較佳飛行員”;酥脆的蛋撻不止是唇齒間的美味，孩子們還在其中找尋到了“π”的秘密……

　　喜愛數(shù)學，是青苗的孩子每一天都在做的事。因為我們把數(shù)學的邏輯和思維方式深深植根于孩子們的心中，所以映照在他們眼中的萬事萬物，都閃耀著數(shù)學的光和美。在每一天的“潤物細無聲”中，學習數(shù)學的樂趣早已浸潤在他們的心間。

　　Cooperative Teaching of Mathematics has been a successful attempt of BIBS’ integration of IB curriculum and the National Education Program of China. It’s not just about the knowledge, but also the skills. In each BIBS classroom, 2 teachers, 2 languages, and 4 or 5 interesting games, we turn make the knowledge fun and appealing.

　　At BIBS, we try to structure the math knowledge in a vivid and interesting way. We established a mini supermarket after learning about RMB, and held an interesting ‘shopping festival’. After learning about dimensions, we held the paper plan contest and nominated Pilot of the Day. We also realized that an egg tart is not just the flavor and taste, it also reveals the secret of “π” ……

　　Loving math is what we do at BIBS every day. Logical thinking helps our students read the world in a mathematically way.
