海南三亞外籍人員子女學(xué)校是一所致力于向在瓊工作的外籍人士子女提供國(guó)際教育課程的全日制國(guó)際學(xué)校。作為三亞海亞教育的成員，學(xué)校成立于 2014 年，為來自 20 多個(gè)不同國(guó)家地區(qū)的學(xué)生們提供的學(xué)習(xí)體驗(yàn)及高質(zhì)量的教學(xué)環(huán)境。學(xué)生接受純正的英式教育，英國(guó)國(guó)家課程成為學(xué)校學(xué)術(shù)資質(zhì)的有力，而豐富的課外活動(dòng)則讓學(xué)生能夠盡情發(fā)掘自身興趣愛好。

　　趣玩科學(xué)，探索未知

　　PART 1

　　Over the last 3 months, students have been working hard in and out of the science classroom to design and create their Science Fair projects.

　　The big day finally arrived on May 28th, when we held our third annual school Science Fair. This year saw the biggest ever turnout, with more than 100 students taking part from Grade 2 to Grade 9 and over 100 parents attending.

　　On Friday morning, the gym was transformed into a colourful kaleidoscope of project boards, beakers, hydraulic pumps, Venus fly traps, and, yes, one small fire.

　　在過去的 3 個(gè)月里，孩子們一直在努力設(shè)計(jì)和創(chuàng)建他們的科學(xué)展項(xiàng)目。

　　重要的一天終于在 5 月 28 日到來了，我們舉辦了第三屆年度學(xué)?？茖W(xué)展。今年是有史以來參加人數(shù)較多的一年，從 2 年級(jí)到 9 年級(jí)有 100 多名學(xué)生和100 多名家長(zhǎng)參加。

　　周五早上，體育館變成了一個(gè)由項(xiàng)目展示板、燒杯、液壓泵、捕蠅器和小火堆組成的五顏六色的萬(wàn)花筒。

　　Visiting parents and students moved through the busy aisles, watching presentations and using stickers to vote on their favourite projects.

　　來訪的父母和學(xué)生觀看演示并使用貼紙對(duì)自己喜歡的項(xiàng)目進(jìn)行投票。

　　Scientists from the nearby Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering，Chinese Academy of Sciences(IDSSE) collaborated with TIS and SLS science teachers to judge projects and present awards to our excited and diligent students.

　　來自中國(guó)科學(xué)院深海研究所 (IDSSE) 的科學(xué)家們與我校的科學(xué)老師通力合作，評(píng)判項(xiàng)目并為孩子們頒獎(jiǎng)。

　　PART 2

　　In the afternoon, the library filled up with students, parents and teachers who gathered to hear speeches from Bobby Jencks and two charismatic IDSSE scientists.

　　學(xué)生、家長(zhǎng)和老師們聚集在圖書館，聆聽兩位魅力非凡的中科院深海研究所科學(xué)家以及Bobby Jencks老師的演講。

　　Dr. Samik Dasgupta, a deep sea geochemist, spoke about what it means to be a scientist, different fields of science, and how they are utilized by the Marine Research Institute.

　　He ended his speech by encouraging students to pursue their passions, saying, “if you can dream it, you can do it”

　　深海地球化學(xué)家Samik Dasgupta博士談到了成為一名科學(xué)家意味著什么，不同的科學(xué)領(lǐng)域以及深海研究所如何利用它們。

　　在演講臨近尾聲時(shí)，他鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生追求自己的夢(mèng)想，他說：“如果你有夢(mèng)想，你就能做到。”

　　Marine biologist and whale researcher Dr. Li Songhai spoke about the importance of science in the community and in the world, focusing on interesting facts about sea mammals and the necessity of environmental protection.

　　He ended by urging children to think more about how to save the oceans and the incredible creatures that live in them.

　　來自中國(guó)科學(xué)院深海研究所的海洋生物學(xué)家和鯨魚研究員——李松海博士講述了科學(xué)在社區(qū)和世界上的重要性，重點(diǎn)介紹了有關(guān)海洋哺乳動(dòng)物的有趣事實(shí)和環(huán)境保護(hù)的必要性。

　　較后，他鼓勵(lì)孩子們要更多地思考如何拯救海洋和生活在其中的不可思議的生物。

　　Mr. Jencks preformed an inspiring and fun science demonstration, telling students that by working together they can achieve great things.

　　Jencks老師展示了一個(gè)鼓舞人心且有趣的科學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)，并且告訴孩子們：通過共同努力，他們可以取得偉大的成就。

　　PART 3

　　This year, the students exceeded the expectations of scientists and teachers alike, with exciting high-quality displays and excellent presentations.

　　At the prize-giving ceremony, hosted by Mrs. Elize Vogel, students were awarded certificates and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as for the Most Creative Project and Best Display Board. The voting stickers were tallied up to determine the Most Popular Project.

　　今年的科學(xué)展上，學(xué)生們以令人興奮的高質(zhì)量展示和出色的演講超出了科學(xué)家和老師們的期望。

　　在由Elize Vogel老師主持的頒獎(jiǎng)典禮上，孩子們獲得了第一、二、三等獎(jiǎng)以及較具創(chuàng)意項(xiàng)目和較佳展示板的和獎(jiǎng)品。評(píng)委們對(duì)投票貼紙進(jìn)行統(tǒng)計(jì)，選出較受歡迎的科學(xué)展項(xiàng)目。
